Centennial Duos Project
Dans nos sociétés occidentales, les aînés sont de plus en plus exclus de la vie économique et culturelle. Ainsi, presque tous les grands concours dans le domaine de l’art, l’entrée à l’Ecole des Beaux-Arts, bourses, prix, projets ou propositions de toutes sortes, sont réservés aux jeunes (21 ans souvent, 35 ans maximum).
Voici un projet d’exposition en binôme intergénérationnel, qui s’inscrit dans un cadre plus large de lutte contre le jeunisme et les cloisonnements qui sévissent dans nos pays. Il est destiné à remettre en contact collaboratif les générations, séparées par divers enfermements, formels ou pas, et à démontrer qu’il est possible d’entreprendre une nouvelle carrière, avoir une idée géniale ou être créatif à 98 ans comme à 18, donc à créer une dynamique intergénérationnelle. C’est aussi une nouvelle manière de manifester l’intelligence collective.
Selection
The artists must be at least 18 years of age, work in pairs, and partner with different generations.
Their combined age must add up to no less than a century (100 years), with an age gap between them of at least 30 years.
Examples:
21 & 82 yrs = 103
50 + 80 = 130
35 + 65. = 100 etc…
Every artist will present one work, in addition to a joint work with their partner, (on a theme?)
For the selection process, the partners of each duo should send a copy of their ID, resume, photos of previous works, and a project of their joint work, to….. by…
7 pairs/duos will be selected for the show and 2 prizes will be awarded
The selected Duos will be notified by the Jury by… and their work must be ready for the show by…
The prizes will be awarded during the opening of the show, following a vote of the jury and the public.
Sales: direct communication with potential buyers.
Terms
• A contact and promotion platform will be established at www.artemotion-bastille.org, to assist you in your search for a partner if you do not yet have one. 2 mediators will smooth things out.
• In addition to artistic interest and value, diversity will be taken into account (origin, field of activity, education, and of course age), but you are welcome to try your luck with your own great-aunt or your grandson, if together you perform wonders!
• So much the better if you are a confirmed artist, but you do not have to be. Do not be shy if you have never exhibited before, only the substance of your work will matter. The point here is to encourage the emergence of artists who are no spring chickens any more, or… not yet hatched!
